about

Money Won't Last is about mortality. Everything we understand is temporary. In my opinion, the only thing that has the potential to be eternal is your reputation. The value people place on the memories they have of you is the only thing that will last. I've seen people give hand themselves over to money, or capitalism. People exhaust themselves or grow old over the idea that they need money in order to live. We've allowed our country and our world to operate under this idea. As it stands, it's nearly impossible (especially in America) to live without capital. And yet, the thing we slave over is as temporary as a commercial. "I know the money won't last, I know the flesh gonna pass, I know the roof's made of glass, I know the sky's made of gas" -- I know the only thing that will last is how y'all remember and choose to pass down that memory to the next.

lyrics

Voicemail:
I really hope these are not too long
Feel free to cut em, chop em
For the horizon, when I think of a horizon
I think about the beginning and the end
I think about how the most beautiful things are timeless
And how they keep coming back
And it makes me think about the legacy that I’d like to leave on this Earth
And how I want it to be big and endless and enough to fill the whole sky
I really hope those are helpful
I’m excited to hear what you’re working on

Rich Robbins:
Don’t take my weed from me
I’m high don’t wait for me
Know I’m late to the gate if the plane does crash
I pray they pray for me
Young nigga with an attitude
Blame all the things that I had to lose
Fools blame it on the alcohol
I cannot be mad at y’all

No the money won’t last
No the clout won’t last
Can’t escape from the past
Can’t escape from the past
No the money won’t last
No the clout won’t last
Can’t escape from the past
Can’t escape from the past

When I die, I’m a GOAT
They gon’ have to do the most
Tell Tia give a toast
The boy grew into a rose
I tell my girl she can trust
I don’t fall for the lust
But my music saving lives
So I love it more than us
I know the money won’t last
I know the flesh gonna pass
I know the roof made of glass
I know the sky made of gas

No the money won’t last
No the clout won’t last
Can’t escape from the past
Can’t escape from the past

My back to the wall
My country don’t love me and sometimes I think y’all don’t love me
Sometimes I think that my friends are just waiting to bury the knife in my tummy
Sometimes I think if I smoke enough weed the demons will get away from me
Get away from me run if you can, you just a man

No the money won’t last
No the clout won’t last
Can’t escape from the past
Can’t escape from the past

I know the sun gonna come
It’s better if I don’t run
I don’t know if this will sell
But I know it’s better for my lungs
I know it’s better for my health
Might as well spread the wealth
Might as well spread the wealth
I know it’s better for my health
The world ain’t ready for kumbaya
Too out of key with the la-di-da
I keep it jumping like Mardi Gras
Make you turn up both the Yamahas
I had to stop buying Band-Aids
Patching up all the wrong wounds
Walking round in a costume
Like one of Stan Lee’s cartoons
Okay I made it to Part 2
But spent Part 1 being bogus
Now I got Karma’s focus
Lookin ass should have known this
Some days are hopeless
You can’t go around an ocean
I was found barely floating
I was found, I was found
